Paul Edwards

Fermata IIPaul creates abstract screen prints that are dynamic, fluid and vibrant.  He uses a variety of techniques to create his prints using paper and photo stencils, building up opaque and transparent bands of colour, sometimes scraping and washing the surface to reveal concealed layers. His work contains gestural marks, echoes of the contours of land and sea. He is inspired by the micro world and the expansiveness of the universe. His prints are captured moments of larger worlds that extend beyond the boundaries of the picture plane.

Paul studied fine art at the former CCAT and Norwich School of Art. He has exhibited as part of Cambridge Open Studios since 2001. His work has been on show at Cambridge Contemporary Art , The Sarah Wiseman Gallery, Oxford, Craftco, Southwold and The Old Fire Engine House Ely.
