After studying an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art I went on to study lithography with Stanley Jones at the Curwen Studio, and worked at Curwen Print Study Centre, as Lead Tutor and Studio Manager, devising, developing and delivering the programme of courses for 17 years. Currently I am developing my own work as an Artist, Printmaker and Tutor.
My abstract prints are inspired by the surrounding landscape and are infused with a sense of mystery, vitality, colour and space. The Monoprints or Monotypes, are unique, evolved over time, constructed of many layers. Working with a variety of techniques, I currently enjoy experimenting with Photopolymer Gravure, and photolithography.
I have worked on many Artist Residencies, workshops for the British Museum, Blenheim Palace and Kettles Yard, to name a few. Exhibitions include The Babylon Gallery, Byard Art, The Market Cross, Bury and many more. In 2013 I joined forces to start the Cambridge Original Printmakers, with inaugural exhibition in 2014, to be followed by the COP Biennale 2016. For more information please visit www.printsuejones.com
