Clare Crouchman is a Printmaker and Ceramic Artist based in Histon, Cambridgeshire.
Clare has an MA in Printmaking from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge and regularly exhibits in the UK and abroad.
Her recent prints are created using the techniques of intaglio and relief printing. She combines materials that have texture and a richness of surface such as carborundum and collagraph with the bold lines and shapes created with linocut and etching.
The themes in her work are abstracted from the landscape, particularly rhythmical and repetitive patterns. These rhythms suggest that nature is an orderly process in the 'chaos' of the world. This concept is further explored through mathematical patterns and concepts of quantum physics.
As well as exhibiting in galleries and at art fairs, Clare has worked in collaboration with art consultants and interior designers to create site specific work. She also offers a bespoke commissioning service for domestic interiors.
