Tracey Ashman

TraceyAshman Summoning Laso

Tracey's multi-layered prints incorporate the textile element of stitch to explore traumatic memories. In both childhood and adulthood, major operations inspired Tracey to create a series of artworks that portray the two-fold aspects of physical and emotional healing.

Casting on or sewing one stitch, then many, forms and creates a fabric, much like the replication of human cells creating tissue that binds and seals. Stitch can therefore be seen as a metaphor for growth and renewal, and a healing and mending of both mind and body.

Tracey is one of the Core Team members for the Cambridge Original Printmaking Biennale 2018.
