Clare Maria Wood

Clare WoodClare originally trained as a Painter and has taught Printmaking for fifteen years. She employs collagraph methods, building layers of carborundum, pumice and acrylic gels. She often cuts and burns back into her plates to create organic feeling assemblages. Using an intaglio method of printing Clare creates heavily embossed textures with velvety tones, which contrast with bright colour rubs.

She incorporates rust imprints and metal leaf creating areas of light and interest. Her most recent mono prints are inspired by landscapes, ancient rock formations and weather worn fragments.

Clare exhibits nationally with collectors' around the world.
