Drypoint workshop with Sue Jones
This workshop introduces you to the beautiful possibilities of drypoint etching with Sue Jones. This Intaglio process allows you to work with very fine detail, with a beautiful rich velvety line. The workshop uses an acetate a contemporary material that is adaptable allowing the the artist to layer and cut the plate with ease. Sue will demonstrate the use of chine collé giving you the ability to add blocks of colour or pattern exactly where you want them to be positioned in your print.
Sue Jones has a wealth of teaching experience having taught printmaking techniques for many years. Sue worked as Studio Manager and Lead Tutor at the Curwen Print Study Centre for over 17 years, developed and delivered workshops for the British Museum Blenheim Palace, the Fry Gallery, Kettles Yard, Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology, Cambridge University, Museum and Zoology Cambridge University and many more.
Sue has also worked with many schools, and Residency programmes, working with both the Perse Girls and Boys Schools, Long Road and Hills Road Sixth Form colleges in Cambridge.
The workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some printmaking experience. All materials included. The cost of the workshop is £55.00.
